Alignment Study of Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel at Tseung Kwan O

Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel (TKO-LT Tunnel) is a 4.8km long dual two-lane road. The TKO-LT Tunnel in conjunction with Trunk Road T2 of Kai Tak Development and Central Kowloon Route will form Route 6 in the strategic road network. Route 6 will provide an east-west express link between Kowloon and Tseung Kwan O (TKO) areas. This strategic route will also provide the necessary relief to the existing heavily trafficked road network in the central and eastern Kowloon areas.

Tseung Kwan O (TKO) Section of the TKO-LT Tunnel will run under Chiu Keng Wan Shan, connecting Road P2 and Cross Bay Link in the east end and the Lam Tin section in the west end.

Taking account of public’s opinions collected in previous stage of public consultation and the site constraints, we have examined a number of alignment options at TKO and selected three alignment options for further study.

We have issued a consultation digest (download here) to give the public an introduction of the alignment options at TKO. We have included our preliminary considerations for the alignment in the Digest and are looking forward to obtaining public views for appraisal and further improvement. We will then draw up a preferred road scheme and consult you again in the next stage of public consultation.
